Before Launching its Services, Canar Develops and Trains New Employees and Fresh Graduates
Under its Plan to Invest in Sudanese Human Resources, More than 65 Employees and Graduates Receive the Highest Standards of Training before Joining Canar Telecommunications
Khartoum 6 Oct., 2005. Canar Telecommunications – the second fixed line operator and fast speed internet services provider in Sudan - has launched its training program that aims at providing new employees and fresh graduates who will join Canar, with comprehensive training. This comes as a step towards achieving one of Canar’s objectives, which is to play a major role in community development and human investment. The trainees were selected by using the latest interviewing and skills testing techniques with global standards based on fairness and transparency. The group was filtered out of approx. 39,000 applicants who were further short-listed to 600 and then to the final number which was more than 65.
This program is one of a series of comprehensive programs delivered by the human resources department at Canar Telecommunications, to invest in Sudanese human resources in areas such as management, science and technology. This will assist in and support the development of the Sudanese community, in addition to improving the skills of trainee employees and graduate trainees and, therefore, achieving the highest levels of knowledge acquisition in telecommunications and information technology.
“The training and occupational development program is positioned at the top of Canar’s priorities pyramid”. Said Saood Al Junaibi, Managing Director of Canar Telecommunications. “This program is just the start of many initiatives and projects that aim at investing in Sudanese human capital and community development, and which Canar has planned to accomplish” added Al Junaibi.
The training program started at the beginning of this month and continues for one year and a half, delivering state of the art training to more than 65 employees and graduate trainees who were carefully selected to join Canar upon completion of the program. The program includes subjects and skills development in areas such as Telecommunications, Information Technology, Engineering, Marketing, Customer Service, Accounting, Management Skills and more. Furthermore, it is worth mentioning that the training will take place in Sudan and abroad, utilizing the best training techniques that depend on practical (on the job) sessions and customized training. It should also be noted here that another group of new national employees was already sent abroad for training last August.
Such unique programs and projects that are organized by Canar, will surely enable it to provide very high quality of telecommunications services, and hence to occupy the active role that Canar is looking forward to play towards the Sudanese community and to effectively contribute to its growth and development as a leader in Sudan and the region. |
